高考英語(yǔ)之whether和if的詞語(yǔ)辨析和用法

　　兩者的用法異同注意以下幾點(diǎn)。

　　1. 兩者均可引導(dǎo)賓語(yǔ)從句，表示是否，常可互換。如：

　　He asked if [whether] we wanted a drink. 他問(wèn)我們是否想喝一杯。

　　He didnt tell me if [whether] he would come. 他沒(méi)有告訴我他是否會(huì)來(lái)。

　　注：若是引導(dǎo)條件狀語(yǔ)從句，則只能用 if(意為如果)。

　　2.當(dāng)引導(dǎo)一個(gè)否定的賓語(yǔ)從句時(shí)，通常用 if 而不用 whether。如：

　　I dont care if it doesnt rain. 我不在乎天是否下雨。

　　注：在個(gè)別詞語(yǔ)(如 wonder, not sure 等)后的從句否定式有時(shí)也可用 whether 引導(dǎo)。如：

　　I wonder if [whether] he isnt mistaken. 我想知道他是否錯(cuò)了。

　　3.以下情況通常要用 whether 而不用 if。如：

　　① 引導(dǎo)賓語(yǔ)從句且置于句首時(shí)。如：

　　Whether he has left, I cant say. 他是否走了，我說(shuō)不定。

　�、� 引導(dǎo)主語(yǔ)從句且放在句首時(shí)。如：

　　Whether he will come is still a question. 他是否會(huì)來(lái)還是個(gè)問(wèn)題。

　　注：若在句首使用形式主語(yǔ) it，而將主語(yǔ)從句放在句末，則有時(shí)也可用 if 來(lái)引導(dǎo)。如：

　　It was not known whether [if] he would come. 不知他是否會(huì)來(lái)。
