        ▲ 國(guó)際奧比斯組織

        國(guó)際奧比斯組織 (Prect Orbis -- ORBIS) 是一個(gè)致力于為世界各國(guó)盲人和眼疾患者恢復(fù)光明的國(guó)際性慈善機(jī)構(gòu),它的宗旨是“使全球失明者重見(jiàn)光明”。

        這個(gè)組織的國(guó)際奧比斯眼科飛行醫(yī)院是世界第一所飛機(jī)眼科醫(yī)院。該院于1982年3月在美國(guó)休思敦正式建立,它是由一架DC—8型飛機(jī)改裝而成,內(nèi)部設(shè)有預(yù)檢室、檢查室、微型手術(shù)室、護(hù)理室等手術(shù)設(shè)備,既可施行手術(shù)又可從事示范教學(xué)、并通過(guò)雙向通訊設(shè)備,直接與示范醫(yī)生進(jìn)行問(wèn)答。奧比斯組織總部設(shè)在紐約。在休斯敦、倫敦、加拿大和香港設(shè)有辦事處,并配備了從美國(guó)及其他地區(qū)選出的一批擁有高級(jí)技術(shù)的醫(yī)生、護(hù)士、工程師、機(jī)師、影視制作人員等為隨機(jī)人員。

        自1982年成立以來(lái),來(lái)自29個(gè)國(guó)家的600多位世界一流的眼科專(zhuān)家,先后訪(fǎng)問(wèn)了四大洲70多個(gè)國(guó)家和地區(qū),使2萬(wàn)名眼疾患者在專(zhuān)機(jī)上進(jìn)行手術(shù)治療,使他們重見(jiàn)光明,并有3萬(wàn)多名各國(guó)眼科醫(yī)生、護(hù)士參與了它的訓(xùn)練計(jì)劃,使之成為推行防盲、治盲的骨干。

        國(guó)際奧比斯組織(ORBIS)是一個(gè)中立的、非盈利的國(guó)際人道主義發(fā)展組織。迄今為止,已環(huán)繞地球四次,在八十余個(gè)國(guó)家完成了超過(guò)500項(xiàng)防盲治盲醫(yī)療活動(dòng),將最新的防盲技術(shù)傳授給五萬(wàn)多名眼科醫(yī)生和護(hù)士。
