自從唐僧師徒回來(lái)西天取經(jīng)，都成了神仙班，但天道有規(guī)，每天要早早上早朝。
這一天八戒匆匆趕到，卻發(fā)現(xiàn)早朝大殿空無(wú)一人，連太上老君老師都沒(méi)來(lái)。他覺(jué)得很奇怪：這么晚了，怎么沒(méi)人？可能不去早朝，但都去哪了？想了想，他帶著云去了太上老君的宮殿。當(dāng)他看到老先生不在宮殿時(shí)，他環(huán)顧四周。突然，他在老先生的桌子上發(fā)現(xiàn)了一些書。他去看它們，發(fā)現(xiàn)它們是英語(yǔ)書。一次偶然的機(jī)會(huì)，老先生來(lái)了，八戒問(wèn)：“你今天怎么不去早朝？再說(shuō)，你為什么學(xué)英語(yǔ)？”老君道：“今年玉帝叫我們出國(guó)旅游，開闊眼界，學(xué)好英語(yǔ)。還有三個(gè)月。有哪些早期？”快點(diǎn)學(xué)英語(yǔ)！來(lái)不及學(xué)了！”豬說(shuō)，“我明白了！我想學(xué)，但是哪里可以學(xué)？”“去水簾洞你大師兄辦的“悟空優(yōu)秀英語(yǔ)培訓(xùn)班”吧！”“哈！這只猴子是什么時(shí)候從仙女變成英語(yǔ)高手的？”之后，他驅(qū)車進(jìn)入云中，來(lái)到水簾洞。他看到水簾洞上有一張美麗的大卡片，上面寫著“優(yōu)秀英語(yǔ)培訓(xùn)班”，又用英語(yǔ)寫了一遍。他走進(jìn)去，看見悟空正在講課。他走過(guò)去說(shuō)：“猴哥，我是來(lái)學(xué)英語(yǔ)的。”“喲！是太陽(yáng)從西邊出來(lái)了！你這個(gè)懶傻子知道怎么學(xué)！”“嘿！猴哥，我也有時(shí)間勤快一點(diǎn)！”“好，你可以找個(gè)座位。只要你肯學(xué)，三個(gè)月就可以背著背包旅行了。”八戒聽后，要了一套英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)設(shè)備，坐在座位上。因?yàn)槲蚩战痰煤�，管得�?yán)，八戒很快就改掉了懶習(xí)慣。他現(xiàn)在非常喜歡學(xué)英語(yǔ)。他拿了個(gè)饅頭，每天很早就去上課。結(jié)果，他在休息時(shí)看書，甚至放學(xué)后也是如此。他早上只吃了五分之一的饅頭！
長(zhǎng)期的努力終于帶來(lái)了優(yōu)異的成績(jī)。在出發(fā)的路上，玉帝拿出一塊食物，放在八戒的背包里。他拍拍他的肩膀說(shuō)：“這食物是對(duì)你努力工作和學(xué)習(xí)的獎(jiǎng)勵(lì)！”八戒聽了，尷尬一笑。
