用法：

　　1、devote的基本意思是因特殊用處或目的而心甘情愿地獻(xiàn)出某物,即“把…奉獻(xiàn),把…專用于”,常表示由于如同起誓般緊迫的動機(jī)而放棄和獻(xiàn)出。

　　2、devote是及物動詞,常接時間、精力、生命等抽象名詞作賓語,而“專用”和“奉獻(xiàn)”的對象則由介詞to引出。

　　He is devoting his ability in his station.

　　他在自己的崗位上默默地奉獻(xiàn)自己的才華。

　　She devoted her young life.

　　她獻(xiàn)出了年輕的生命。

　　3、表示“忠于”“致力于”“獻(xiàn)身于”時可用devote oneself to結(jié)構(gòu),也可用be devoted to結(jié)構(gòu)。

　　Now she devoted most of the time to this work.
