1、表示“水果”時(shí)，通常用作總稱(chēng)或集體名詞，不可數(shù)。如：

　　He just lived on fruit. 他只靠吃水果維持生命。

　　Would you like some more fruit? 你要不要再吃點(diǎn)水果?

　　若表示水果種類(lèi)，則是可數(shù)的。如：

　　The mango is a tropical fruit. 芒果是種熱帶水果。

　　The tree bears a red hard fruit. 這種樹(shù)結(jié)一種紅色堅(jiān)硬的果實(shí)。

　　但有時(shí)到底是表示總稱(chēng)還是種類(lèi)，完全取決于具體的語(yǔ)境，有時(shí)兩種情況都說(shuō)得通。如：

　　The country exports tropical fruit(s). 該國(guó)出口熱帶水果。

　　2、表示“幾種（多種、各種）水果”時(shí)，可直接說(shuō) some (many, various) fruits，也可用 some (many, various) kinds of fruit（后者通常用不用復(fù)數(shù)）。如：

　　Some [Some kinds of] fruits don’t freeze well at all. 有些水果根本就不能冷藏。

　　They sell various [various kinds of] fruits at that shop. 那個(gè)商店賣(mài)各種水果。
