      辨析:

      1) whole 著重“完整的”整體,指完整無缺的統(tǒng)一體,不可分割,一個不少,沒有絲毫減少和遺漏。whole在日常用語中用的最多,entire則可以修飾抽象名詞,而whole 則不行。如:They told me the whole story.

      2) all ?梢院蛍hole互換,但whole位于定冠詞、物主代詞之后,而all則放在它們之前。如:All the windows are open.

      3) entire含“齊全無缺”之意,即其完整的程度達(dá)到既不可減少也不可增添的地步。如:The entire class will be there.全班都在這兒。

      4) total指數(shù)量上的全部。如:The club has a total membership of about 300.這家俱樂部的成員總數(shù)約為300.
