more than本意為“多于,超過”,可引申為“不僅僅;遠不止;極其”。如:

They were more than willing to help.

他們非常愿意幫忙。

She was more than frightened at the sight.

看到這情景,她簡直嚇壞了。

動詞不定式短語to send e-mail...是跟在they are being used后面的。也就是說,這個句子應該是:They are being used to send e-mail or surf the Internet.

2. The latest cellphones have features such as games, music and an electronic calendar that will remind you about appointments and important dates.(Reading)

remind 作 “使……想起”解時,后可接of引起的短語或從句。如:

The story you have just told reminds me of an experience I once had.

你剛才講的那個故事使我想起了我的一次經(jīng)歷。

That reminds me that I must write to him.

那使我想起來我該給他寫信了。

remind 作 “提醒”解時, 后可接帶不定式的復合結構, 也可接of或about引起的短語, 還可接從句。如:

Remind him to close the windows when he leaves.

提醒他在離開時把窗子一一關上。

She asked me over the telephone to remind you about the party.

她打電話來要我提醒你不要忘了赴宴。

3. They are being used everywhere - sometimes where they shouldn’t.

句中are being used為現(xiàn)在進行時的被動語態(tài);where引導的是一個地點狀語從句,表示“在……的地方”;shouldn’t 的后面省略了be used, 以避免重復。如:

Put things where you can easily find them.

把東西放在你容易找到的地方。

These words were said where they shouldn’t.

這些話說在了不該說的地方。
